At the St. John Stroke Center, we follow the philosophy that early intervention leads to early improvement. That’s why stroke victims can expect physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language therapy from the beginning. After evaluating the stroke patient, our rehab team creates a rehabilitation plan specific to each person’s situation.
The goal in rehabilitation is to help the stroke survivor be as self-sufficient as possible. With help from our staff, patients will re-learn basic life functions that a stroke may have taken away.
We understand that stroke survivors want to be with family and return to home as soon as possible. We encourage family members to become involved with their loved one’s rehabilitation effort to speed recovery and make the transition out of the hospital as smooth as possible.
Our outpatient stroke clinic will work together with primary care physicians and rehabilitation specialists to provide prevention and follow-up services.
